Beyond The Screen
With a brand new function space to compliment our existing three screens, Abbeygate Cinema has never been better equipped to bring culture and entertainment to Bury St Edmunds. We’ve already had great feedback from events taking place ‘beyond the screen’. Our recent Food 4 Film dining experience brought another level of immersion to the cult classic Tarantino flick, Pulp Fiction. Comedy at Abbeygate also saw a great turn-out and we’re excited to welcome back our host and his great comedy acts.

Christmas Comedy: A Hilarious Holiday Show + Festive Meal

Join us for a special Christmas event in our festively decorated new function space. The evening begins at 6.30pm with a glass of bubbly on arrival, followed by a three-course festive meal. Later in the evening, enjoy live comedy featuring high-profile headliners that will have you in stitches, starting at 8:30pm. Fresh from the Fringe, Insert Laughter Here return to Bury St Edmunds with their much loved hilarious improvised comedy stylings, this time at Abbeygate Cinema! This show will also have a suitably cinematic theme running throughout, so expect Movie Madness, Hollywood Hi-Jinks and more Film-related Fun than you can shake a clapperboard at! (And probably a lot of puns…)
Solve-Along: Murder She Wrote

Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote is a screening of an episode of Murder, She Wrote with games and laughs. Newbies are guided through the history of the episode and you’ll soon appreciate the wonder that is JB Fletcher and the uselessness of the police. So this event is for fans and new-comers alike.
