Abbeygate Cinema invites you to indulge in an evening of laughs for its Live Comedy Night! On the last Sunday of the month in our function room downstairs. Our bar is open until late and snacks are available from the Box Office.
We are delighted to have hosted TV Headliners Mark Simmons and Fiona Allen at the Abbeygate Comedy Club.
Local comedians take centre stage on a Sunday evening and tickets are just £4!

The Bury St Edmunds New Comedian of the Year 2026!
We’re thrilled to announce something very special for next year at Abbeygate Comedy Club! As part of the Bury St Edmunds Comedy Festival, we’ll be hosting our first-ever New Comedian of the Year competition — shining a spotlight on the freshest, funniest rising stars in comedy.
Across three exciting heats, local and regional comedians will battle it out for laughs, glory and cash prizes, before our grand final — featuring a top-name headliner to close the show in style.
