Hitchcock: Vertigo (1958)

More Information
Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece Vertigo is typically idiosyncratic take on film noir (it takes place almost entirely in bright, Technicolor daylight). The film skilfully manipulates us into seeing the world through the eyes of reliable ex-cop Scottie (James Stewart) as he pursues the apparently possessed Madeleine (Kim Novak), then steadily unravels everything we thought we knew.
Part thriller, part ghost story, part Freudian nightmare – Vertigo is a multi-layered portrait of obsession and a haunting visual treat.
