Quarantine Q+A with Felix
As the third national lockdown looms, we’re taking the time to get you more acquainted with our wonderful team. This time we talk to Supervisor, Felix.
How long have you been a part of the Abbeygate Team?
On and off 9 years.
What’s your favourite film? Why should people watch it?
Princess Mononoke by Studio Ghibli. Timeless, beautifully animated tale of man vs nature. Appropriate and affecting for all ages.
What are you watching right now?
The Serpent on BBC. Its about serial killer Charles Sobhraj who conned, drugged and murdered dozens of tourists on the ‘hippy trail’ in 1970s Thailand.
Any book recommendations?
‘Novacene’ by James Lovelock. Non-fiction about the “next step” in the evolution of conscious life towards artificial intelligence. Witty, important and terrifying.
‘The Sympathiser’ By Viet Thanh Nguyen. Hilarious, fiercely written novel on the fall of Saigon and a Vietnamese communist sleeper agent in the US. Relentless pacing and Intelligent, sharp social satire.
‘Blink’ by Malcolm Gladwell. Read loads of his books but this might be my favourite. Non-fiction on the science behind snap judgements and why we make those decisions.
What are you listening to?
Anything on the Proved Records label. Hip-Hop, Jungle and Techno.
What’s your lockdown guilty pleasure?
Staying up till 4am playing videogames.
What’s your favourite thing to have happened at Abbeygate?
Meeting all the amazing people I get to work with.
What are you most excited to do when this is over?
Hang out with friends and spend all the money I’ve saved at the pub.
